Making Ink for kids

$65.00

Duration: 1.5to 2 hours

We'll experiment with flowers from the farm and kitchen items — vegetables, spices, anything with color to give. Using mild acids and bases to shift and change our colors. We'll make inks, play with the chemistry, and then paint with them on the spot. Messy, colorful, and genuinely surprising. Color change sorcery for curious kids.

Price covers one child and one participating adult as a pair. Take home includes 2 bottles of ink and reference guide per pair. Children 10 and older may attend independently and receive their own take home.

Children under 10 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Children 10 and older may attend independently provided they can follow instruction.

Every class includes a farm tour and overview of current growing operations.

What to bring: Sun and bug protection, water and snacks. Wear clothes you don't mind getting colorful, seriously, because colorful accidents happen. Porta john on site. Dress for the farm and the season. Gloves and aprons available.

Take home (per pair or independent child):

- 2 small bottles of botanical ink

- A one-sheet reference guide

- Several small paintings and test swatches made during class

Completing both kids classes earns a Bloom badge from The ESBA.

Groups welcome. Contact us for private bookings.

Notes: Classes held in shade structure on site. Cancelled for rain with full refund.
